- firstly, you say that he's been the best player in the league "for the past few years", so you mean minimum of three, possibly as many as five years on the trot.
- you say "easily" as if it's beyond doubt, ie anyone who watches a fair bit of football would agree with you.

I think that Hazard and Salah are a definite step up in class from Silva, who has never won any of the (many) footballer of the year awards. You could also argue that Aguero, Sanchez, Coutinho, Bale, Kante, have all been better over the course of a season.

If you're talking about consistency, then Silva has been very good for a number of years, but best player in the league? No.
