It's that time of year again, the IRA sympathiser has told anyone that will listen that he won't be wearing a poppy shirt against Middlesbrough.
First November in years he's not cried off injured.

Like everybody wears a poppy.

He doesn't need to wear one, I don't need to wear one, you do not need to wear one.

This is correct. People are entitled to choose whether they want to wear one or not. However, in this case we have player, who is requesting to have one removed from his shirt to make a political statement. He has previosly been involved in silly childish snubs of the British flag, and he is a self attention seeking, British hating, terrorist sympathising piece of scum.

The grief he gets from football fans for a few years will be nothing to the lifetime's grief he'd get for the rest of his life back home if he ever wore one.

Well of course yes, together with anyone else who supports an organisation who blows up kids, because they can't get their own way.

I must admit I do not wear as many poppies as I make contributions to the cause- which is usually quite a bit.
In recent years the armed forces have descended into little more than the military wing of the political establishment fighting for causes none of them would ever expect to fight themsleves.

I proudly wear my poppy in remembrance of those who lost their lives being duped by politicians who sent them to their death for issues the public do not even benefit from.

The First World War was one of the worst examples, and the ones that followed not much better.

McLean's statement in full.

"They have nothing in their whole imperial arsenal that can break the spirit of one Irishman who doesn’t want to be broken. Your abuse, your throwing things, your booing, do your worst. To the home fans that are actually educated and support me, thank you. To the section of uneducated cavemen in the left hand corner of the Boothen End Stand that want to song their Anti-Irish songs each game and call me a Fenian this and that, I am a PROUD FENIAN. No c**t will ever change that, so sing away ."

I predict an outpouring of Gammon rage.....
A joyless arsehole.
