Scottish top flight teams still in Tenerife, Dubai etc - or the ones who can afford aka Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen - on their winter break. Although the Scottish Cup starts next weekend with a baptism of fire for Defoe, can we do the business on a cold, Friday January night in Cowdenbeath?

County pumped 4-0 in the Championship today ; Ayr loss in Inverness and the Arabs beat the Pars 1-0 to put them within 3pts of County. Awfae ticht with 16 games to go. Caldwell is taking the Jags down!

Arbroath back to 13 points ahead of Raith ( after Raith had beat them and got it back to 10 a few weeks back, but some lack luster results from Raith and the Lichties winning where it matters has the gap back).

Edinburgh City still living the dream at the top of League 2, although 3 pts clear having played a game more than Peterhead.

If anyone is interested (and I'm guessing, no) but there's an excellent podcast called Tell Him He's Pele which does in-depth interviews with Scottish lower-league players, and there are lots of good guests - Danny Denholm and Scott McLaughlin episodes are very good. Its a bit like the Scottish lower league football version of Joe Rogan. Well, maybe no, but they are just as lengthy.

The Terrace is another decent podcast.

Rather than Parry and Kelly in the car , download the Danny Denholm. Quite refreshing to hear a footballer who has a brain and can reflect on his career without cliches or only tell stories of pranks and characters in the changing room.

It's Scottish Cup Weekend!

Auchinleck Talbot v Ayr is on TV tomorrow at 12:30, and so are Celtic and Airdrie at 17:30. Followed by Livi-Hertz on Sunday.

The Donald Findlay Derby is off tonight. Cowdenbeath might be one of the only areas in the UK which have streets named after Soviet communist heroes, so there's Corbyn's Scottish team sorted.

This from 1996 to start the weekend in style, and listen oot for the ''we're aw no black,'" bit.

As per, poor Ally was going to Cowenbeath tonight. :(
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

Miserable fucker just walked straight past me.

Only dawned on me a few weeks later who he was
A joyless arsehole.

Quite the day of shocks.

Well done Talbot. Watched the 90mins and Ayr looked utterly hopeless without Shankland. A well deserved win for Talbot, and interesting to see who they get in the next round. Really is the result of the round, knocking out the Championship leaders.

East Kilbride who are going full guns in the Lowland League and looking very likely to be in with a chance of League 2 football given a bit of a pumping from Caley Thistle. Ross County knock out Motherwell (who now have Ross McCormack on loan til the end of the season).

Stenhousemuir who have been rank rotten of late forced Aberdeen in to a reply and a trip to Ochillview, so a decent result. Raith and East Fife also causing shocks of sorts - beating Dunfermline and Morton.

Celtic stroll past Airdrie, and Tim Weah (son of Liberia persident and former football king George) scores for the Tims on his debut.

Only three league fixtures, all from League 2 today where Edinburgh City lost at home to Annan ; Peterhead with their shooting king, Rory McAllister scelped Berwick 2-0. Top three in League 2 are racing away from Annan and Cowdenbeath. Peterhead are now leaders on 47, Edinburgh City 44 and Clyde 42.

Heid Caldwell finally gelling that Thistle team together? As they wallop Stranraer 4-1. Maybe not, but a much needed win from him and for Thistle.

That would be a shocking move...just can't see it happening. No disrespect but Wigan?
