Were you there for the whole day Carlos and what costume were you in? :)

The editor of the Lancashire fanzine took his criticism of the players a bit too far yesterday and a couple of the players including the captain bit back.

Jordan Clark leaving for Surrey got involved

The editor was sacked today.

Lancs were pretty insipid in their chase after mid overs as still in the game after 10. Lots of singles, but fair play to Worcs. A couple of old Lancs boys behind me were reet proper mad.

Difference between opening in test and county cricket is on show today - Murali Vijay struggled in the test series for India, but he is hoovering up runs for Essex. Fantastic player to watch when in full flow as he has been today.

Sussex bowlers being clattered by the Bears at Hove. :D

Another ton for Bell. When you see some of the shite England have employed in the middle order this season in the name of giving the younger players a go, it makes you realise how light we are in that area. Belly couldn't have done any worse and would have likely done a lot better than most of them.

Durham post their two lowest first-class scores on the same day at Grace Road.

Fortunately our substantial score of 321 in the first innings means we should avoid a pitch inspection.

Worst day ever to be a Durham supporter (ie me). On field anyway - the ultra-harsh punishments a couple of years ago was worse.

Would love to see him back in the test side.

One of my favourite players of the recent era.

If doctoring the pitch doesn't work and you're on your way to an innings defeat..............

Essex could still pip them to 2nd place this season, but presumably they will get more points now the game has been abandoned.

Good news for Lancashire that it is likely to be 3 up and 1 down next season, if they agree to make the top division 10 teams from 2020.

Anyone know of another sport where 25% of the teams in the top division get relegated each year ?

Well it seems it won't be cricket either from next year.

The problem with Lancashire is not the county set up or Somerset or any other outside gripe you might have - it is the way your own club is run. I presume you are a member of the Lancs Action Group?

Not a member, but I do know a few of the people in it. The club is run appallingly, and relegation is fully deserved. There's talent galore in the local leagues, but the county don't do nearly enough to tap into it and nurture it. Pleased that Josh Bohannon has had a chance albeit way too late in the season, but depressing that the likes of Karl Brown who has never been good enough to play first class cricket is still stinking the team out at 30 years old.
