Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

Who on earth would want the job?
Abramovich is clearly bored with it all, and until he can offload will fire any manager within a year.

There's been a lot of talk that Klopp is angling for it actually.

Talk by who?
If you know anything about him it's the sort of club that is anathema to him.

What do you mean " That sort of club " ?
What - a club which competes purely on huge amounts of money and imported players ?

A lot of people have been suggesting it privately and I heard that there have been huge bets placed in Russia and the Far East that he'll be the Chelsea manager at the start of next season. Similar bets on Gareth Bale joining Chelsea in the summer actually and odds are shortening in those markets on both bets.

I think you'll find , actually, that Cardiff City have the best fans in the world.
I've heard of Liverpool of course, which I believe is some kind of feeder club for Everton.
A general guide to quality in football is that the very best teams wear blue.

After you, Claude.

You tried your best but we're heading downwards.

Season is turning to utter shit.

And it has happened. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43942584

Time had come. Players and fans had lost faith and it wasn't fair on the man either to have rumours daily about his future.

Process starts now for the next underwhelming appointment. Yay.

Not a surprise. H, Fat Sam or Davie Moyes for me.

There'll be a lot of joy at this news but I always see sacking a manager as sad as they've failed plus there is the doubt about the next choice (and given our track record, it isn't inspiring).

The home form has been terrible for 12 months, the players have had enough (although it isn't the first time this has occurred) and we are drifting down the table. Players need to step up now as the excuse of the manager's style of play, coaching and training methods have gone.

Puel gave his best and has brought through promising younger players. I wish him well for the future.
