Team sky are pulling out of sponsoring cycling. What will this mean for the likes of Chris froome and coverage of the sport? Are they getting out before more dirt Is discovered by the Russians?

I read Bahrain are sponsoring a team now, so I can see them dominating. The oil rich Arabs are trying to control sport

Skys budget per season is around £34M, nearest is around 16-18, a year or so of negative publicity has done them, thats without Freemans upcoming case & probably a lot more "dubious" practises with testosterone patches etc

Someone will buy it , lots of publicity etc with mass coverage on Eurosport, with your logo etc on display for hours , just will not be the money machine SKY was , they could buy whoever they want etc . Will be a leveller in terms of the money involved because they will not be able to finance a team with the depth of quality they currently employ.

Thomas (It may have been Wiggins, I forget) said of Dave Brailsford (Team Sky's head bloke); Dave is the sort of bloke who you catch sleeping with your wife and convinces you that you are to blame for it. For me, as a keen follower of cycling it'll be interesting to see who has the balls to deal with Brailsford. Reading the Press, Sky will either pass to an American or French outfit.
