Does anyone else wonder what the point of this tour is? It's early in the New Year and these tours normally happen during early Spring i.e. March/April but there's the infernal IPL again. It's a bit of a crap obligation to to fill time against a team that couldn't give a shit themselves, can we not pull out of it with a "no deal"?

Root even managed 3 wickets. Who was it against, the cast of Death in Paradise? :D

West Indies win the toss and bat.
Currently 30/0 off 12 overs.

Broad dropped (that'll make certain forumers' day  )

Dropped after taking a hat trick. Something wrong there.

Just the sort of ground where England desperately need a bowler like Stuart Broad, a venue where his stunning average of 86.5 with the ball would prove invaluable.

Great to get those wickets at the end, but the new ball was doing a lot. 300 could be a decent score with their pace attack.

England 73/8.
Not sure if it's excellent bowling or poor batting.

Collapso cricket. Nothing from the openers as expected, Bairstow is not a number 3 and Moeen looks as if he’s in Australia shellshock mode already, that shot was criminal.

Left to Curran and Rashid to get past the follow on total. The one positive is that if you’re going to pick a bowler of 80mph pies, you at least pick one who can bat.
