Haseeb watch. Currently 111 not out for Lancy.

Only against Loughborough admittedly but great to see the lad off to a flier.

Great to have county championship commentary back on the beeb, but the guff they were coming out with at lunchtime about the weakness of 2nd division cricket was laughable.

If the standard is really that poor, how come Essex got promoted after several seasons in that league and then went unbeaten and took the championship title the year they gained promotion?

In percentage terms, possibly the fastest growing spectator sport. Nearly every county now stream their matches on the internet, combined with live commentary on all games from the BBC. I'd wager more people watch and listen to the 4 day game now than since back in the halcyon post war period when crowds were at their peak.

If you take county cricket on a wider scale - the average attendance for a T20 blast game is roughly equivalent to that of a Wigan football match. Are Wigan finished as a spectator sport? Your words, not mine. :D

Wigan is a rugby town, they don't have a football team.

Great win for Lancy at Middlesex who very rarely lose County Championship games at Lords. Jimmy Anderson got some bowling and took a few wickets. Would be great if the momentum built could be taken into the next 4 day game, a pity it's a month away with a load of pyjama cricket about to start.
