Write off the Aussies at your peril. A bit like Germany in the football (last year excepted), they turn up for the World Cup. Won 4 of the last 5.

Starts next week and the final not till 13th July. It’s a long tournament. Would be a disaster if we don’t do well.

Fixed for you.

I genuinely don't see this tournament generating world cup fever across the nation. Even a significant proportion of actual cricket fans find the 50 over game dull.
Come for the rampant misogyny, stay for the tedious bitching

On the plus side, there's a full schedule of county cricket to enjoy while this tournament plays out. Given Essex will most likely be concentrating on staying up, will genuinely be rooting for Somerset to get their first title.

Great, now lets keep this thread relevant to the subject.

It won’t though the returning Aussies are grabbing some headlines today. The whole thing is far too big and too many games but if we do well at least it should keep the media attention with no football this Summer.

I’m a little surprised this format is still going to be honest. I don’t think we have a 50 over tournament in this country soon. I can’t imagine many were interested in yesterday’s final. I didn’t even know it was on until I put the telly on looking for the England game.

England favourites to win the World Cup. A batting lineup that can destroy the best bowling attacks in the world.

Opening game England Vs SA

England 16 - 1 after 4 overs
A joyless arsehole.

If there is a way to fuck it up we’ll find it. Ask Ben Stokes.

Buttler being bowled just now was a blow.
Should get 330-ish, though, then Zambo's cricketer of the century, Chris Woakes, will steam in and get a Michelle...

Hope so. Moeen completely out of touch. Get him out, he's wasting too many balls

3 in 9 balls just when we need acceleration.

On a knife edge, I'd say. I'll still take England to win from here though. Saffers' don't have a lot of batting down the tail. A lot rests on Amla and du Plessis I'd say.
