My insistence on not selecting Liverpool players is really hurting me! I’d put in Trent and Mane in a heartbeat if I didn’t think it would jinx them.

Gameweek 23: A week of disappointments as heavily-captained players did little, or missed penalties (Vardy). However points were there for some and as Klopptical Illsusion's 62 point score suggests, Liverpool provided plenty of them.

Quick turn around this week as the next deadline is Tuesday 21st January at 6.30; just a reminder that Liverpool and West Ham both have a double week.

Gameweek 24:

A double gameweek for West Ham and Liverpool, a prospect that had keen players frothing at the mouth over which Liverpool players to pick, captain and even triple captain. In our league Klopptical Illusion leapt to second place due to the triple captaining of Salah, now one point off the leaders.

Game week 25:
Captaining Mo Salah this week was the way to go as Man City amongst others failed to deliver, and Salah-captaining Klopptical Illusion and Comfortably Numb climbed to first and second place repectively while Mightly Blues dropped from the top spot.

Next round is one for the patient: deadline for changes is Saturday 8th Feb at 11.30am but the final match of the round isn't played until Monday 17th Feb at 8pm.

Gameweek 28:

Watford beat Liverpool 3-0 to destroy most teams, and those who captained Salah especially. There were other horrors, Lloris not in goal for the Spuds for one, as this game week turned into a farce for those expecting returns from top players. Man Utd's new fella Fernandes did well, and Mighty Blues! had him as captain which got them the round high score and keeps them top of the table. Unfortunately Shedboy failed to capitalise on last round's gains and stays in 15th place.

Gameweek 29: A shocker of a week for many as the Arsenal v Man City re-arranged match was postponed meaning both sides' double week of matchs was reduced to one and in that one both sets of players scored very few points. Mighty Blues! hold steady at the top of the table.

At time of writing next week's deadline is Saturday 14th March at 11.30; but on Friday all matches could be called off due to the virus. It could even be the end of the season. I am in constant contact with the PL regarding keeping this mini league running and will pass on updates as they occur.

Advice is to not make any transfers for this game week but set a team up as normal, just in case the games are suddenly declared to be on and you are not in a position to set a team up.

Re: Fantasy Premier League 2019-20

Post by Arthur Brutal »

GAMEWEEKS 30 AND 31 POSTPONED.

The Premier League have released official confirmation of how Fantasy Premier League will operate over the next few weeks, with all matches from Gameweeks 30 and 31 postponed from their original scheduled dates.

With no matches between now and Gameweek 32, I'm sure you are wondering what this means for transfers, chips played and other decisions made in the build-up to Gameweek 30.

The Premier League has now moved to answer all those questions.

What happens to Gameweek deadlines?

The deadlines for Gameweek 30 (Saturday, 14 March, 11:30 GMT) and Gameweek 31 (Friday, 20 March, 19:00 GMT) will remain at their scheduled times. Any activity managers undertake ahead of each deadline will apply to that Gameweek.

Given all fixtures have been postponed for these Gameweeks, managers will earn zero points for their players.

For managers who took a points hit for transfers, their Gameweek scores will reflect the points they lost.

What about transfers, Wildcards and chips?

Managers must also be aware that any transfers made, or Wildcards or chips played in a Gameweek where all the fixtures are postponed will not be reinstated.

Please note that managers can cancel any Triple Captain or Bench Boost chip they have played ahead of a Gameweek deadline. However, this does not apply to transfers they have made, or Wildcards or Free Hit chips played.

What happens to the postponed fixtures?

It is the Premier League’s intention to reschedule the postponed fixtures when it is safe to do so.

Points scored in these fixtures will apply to the Gameweek in which the fixtures are played and not to Gameweek 30 or Gameweek 31.

What happens next?

In this fast-moving environment, the Premier League will provide further updates when appropriate.

These are exceptional circumstances and we appreciate the understanding of FPL managers while the situation evolves.

Explanation

This means transfers can be made during the dead weeks; a chance to tidy up teams? But any any transfers than incur hits, those count for that week.

They are sticking to the line that it will all be back to normal for Saturday April 4th and Gameweek 32, unless "the situation evolves".

Interesting times.
