The Barmy Army used to be quite witty and humourous- can remember being at Trent Bridge in 2003 against South Africa and the crowd chanting "just one more run" to Do Ron Ron (after their two World Cup exits) and also singing Viva Espana to Ashley Giles after the King of Spain stuff in 2005.

Now they've just developed into the football repetitiveness of their songs.

Anyone playing a musical instrument at a sporting venue should be up for public decapitation.

The fuss a few years ago when they banned Tommy the fucking Trumpeter or whatever he was called

Yep, bit tiresome, that.
The other day they were belting out that DON'T TAKE ME HOOOOOME one, and Vaughan was going "Oh, I really love this song. Great stuff!" etc

Billy Cooper. Don't mind him in short bursts.

But that guitar player at the World Cup was pure cringe.

Foakes has had a succession of ducks, sadly. (But it's a decent keeper we need, so I'd be tempted to at least get him in the squad).

Australia kindly given a tour game against Worcester so that any players needing some more red ball practice can get up to speed. Meanwhile no county cricket opportunities for the likes of Bairstow, Ali, Denly, Buttler etc. Even Archer is having to clean up in a division 2 second XI game to prove his fitness, but the difference between that and the Lord's test next Wednesday is going to be massive.

Yep, makes sense.
Hope Archer gives them plenty of chin music.

Doesn't look like there's much chance of play tomorrow.

Talks of bringing in Curran for Denly, can't see how that weakens the side.

Out

Bairstow . Big headed, beardy cunt with a huge ego who's failed too many times recently

Broad. We have two other medium paced right armers and we need something different. Can't drop Woakes with his record at Lords

Imagine how much better we'd be doing if we'd left these two out. :?

Nice to get a first-innings lead, albeit a small one.

Archer looked lethal earlier - Smith very lucky still to be in one piece.

What a fantastic day of cricket. A bit like Atherton - Donald from all those years ago. Been some brilliant bowling all round from both teams in this test. Great from the oldies too - kudos to Siddle and Broad in this match.

I can't remember seeing a bowling spell as quick/dangerous as that for a very long time (from an England bowler, at any rate).
