England in a decent position, 210 ahead with NZ 4 down.
But still feels like a missed opportunity. Stokes was well set in the 90s, then swishes at one, as does Pope straight afterwards - both gave their wickets away. Then Curran got a great ball first up.
Should have got 400-450 to really put the pressure on.

Good decision :)

Tough one - Woakes is such a nice bloke and at his best he offers a lot with bat and ball. But yeah, Curran deserves a run in the side. England seem much more balanced with Bairstow gone and Buttler behind the stumps.

As much as I love New Zealand, sadly the time difference makes the series largely impossible for me to follow.

10pm start is nice, at least two hours play before going to sleep.

Better than Australia a couple of years ago.

Yep, looks like we were well short and could be under a bit of pressure.

Stokes and Pope were well set, but played irresponsible shots.
England should have got 450 and had a first-innings lead. Could be looking at a 100+ deficit now :(

Jack Leach may not be the best spinner England have, but at least we can rely on his bating...

Oh. :(

Just hope that England can bat sensibly tomorrow and get a draw.
A real missed opportunity, this Test. If we'd scored 100 more, would have put pressure on NZ, rather than giving them a chaseable total.
Will have to do another escape act, like we managed with Prior several years ago.

Not often you talk tense Del but on this occasion you maybe correct. Captaincy doesn’t work for all players.
