Even if teams are going to be significantly weakened such as Man City who only really need another twelve points to confirm finishing ahead of Man U for next season’s Champions League - yes I know they have to have their ban overturned.

A number of clubs are just going to put their b teams out, why would players being linked for big moves be risked playing in June/July. This great sell about it being a festival of football becomes more laughable by the day.

Liverpool would only need to win about four games at most to confirm themselves as Champions and would just rest their big players. So really a number of teams just aren’t going to bother.

Even before you get to the question of teams being bothered, you need to consider the question of players making themselves available to play. A number have already expressed a reluctance to take any risks. Will clubs try to force those players to play? Lots of talk previously about following government direction and advice but I don't think many got the steer that they were expecting today.

The players don’t even know what’s happening. This really is just going to drag on, thought that today was when the big meeting would decide everything but there’s going to be two more later in the week. Meanwhile more clubs are voicing disapproval. Going to make it more difficult to relegate the bottom three and promote West Brom and Leeds irrespective of what Rick Parry says.
