Your teams best 11 (that you have seen)

Post by henrycrs »

This came up in a group chat with the lads I play football with on a Friday. My best Cambridge 11 although Chadwick, Preece and Wilson not at their best at Cambridge

John Filan

Alan Kimble
Jody Craddock
Liam Daish
Clive Wilson

Lee Philpott
Richard Wilkins
David Preece
Luke Chadwick

Dion Dublin
Dave Kitson

You could have a decent bench with the likes of Claridge, Danny Granville, Gary Rowett, Iwan Roberts and Trevor Benjamin

Fucking hell I forgot Ashbee. Always thought he was average at best, then he developed and progressed further than the other midfielders we had.

First XI / Second XI

Shay Given / Martin Dubravka
Barry Venison / Steve Watson
Jose Enrique / John Beresford
David Batty / Yohan Cabaye
Fabricio Coloccini / Steve Howey
Philippe Albert / Steven Taylor
Robert Lee / Laurent Robert
Nolberto Solano / Jonas Gutierrez
Alan Shearer / Andy Cole
Peter Beardsley / Les Ferdinand
David Ginola / Keith Gillespie

I don't remember Gazza/Keegan/Waddle playing for us very well, otherwise they would be strong contenders.

Manager: Kevin Keegan / Bobby Robson

I think Del was only including those players he had seen play live.

Which is good, because he was respecting the integrity of the thread.

Ah right, those 2 matches over 50 years must have given him a real insight.

That’s quite a big gap of football he missed to be fair and arguably the two best players the club have had in the past 25 years.
