Euro and Olympic 2020 merchandise

Post by AlcoholBrazil »

Quite fancy getting the Euro 2020 ball as there has been merchandise amended to 2021.
Is there any novelty or monetary value to getting merchandise for postponed sporting events ?
Anyone buying any Euro /Olympic balls, shirts, key-rings, caps ,water bottles etc
Any thoughts ?

Will it be amended to 2021?

I imagine vast majority of it has already been produced and it'd cost quite a bit of get it re-done.

Wouldn't surprise me if it goes ahead next year it's still referred to Euro 2020.

Depressing thing is we'd only be a couple of weeks away from it kicking off in an alternate universe.

Wouldn't be any consolation to those family members affected, though.

Our local market stalls had, every four years, a good stock of 'Scotland World Cup' tea-towels at extremely reasonable prices, eg. next to niothing.

Both the Olympics and Euros will be 2020: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/25/spor ... ndise.html

And: https://www.uefa.com/insideuefa/news/ne ... 41715.html
Following the postponement of UEFA EURO 2020 to the summer of 2021 and after a thorough internal review as well as several discussions with partners, the Executive Committee has decided that the tournament will still be known as UEFA EURO 2020.

This decision allows UEFA to keep the original vision of the tournament to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the European Football Championships (1960 – 2020).

It will furthermore serve to remember how the whole football family came together to respond to the extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficult times Europe, and the world, had to go through in 2020.

This choice is in line with UEFA’s commitment to make UEFA EURO 2020 sustainable and not to generate additional amounts of waste. A lot of branded material had already been produced by the time of the tournament’s postponement. A change to the name of the event would have meant the destruction and reproduction of such items.
Was off to Dublin at the end of June, maybe next year then.

A bit of an EFL Trophy is the Euros, with so many different winners. The likes of Czechs ,Danes and Greece.
A pity England still can't get their hands on the damn thing.

:D

I may bow out of proceedings.

Thought that Russia 2018 wasn't the best and the price increase was a deal breaker.
