Funny you should say that, I was only thinking of that option today. Reading the AVG forums, there are a lot of unhappy people discussing this weeks new release. A lot are talking about Avast and reckon it's better.

If you're interested in free then Avast is a good option.

I've been using Avast for a good while, it seems to block stuff that AVG and Norton let through, a member on here recommended it when there was a question about free anti virus, until he got perma banned. :(

I've used free Avast for years and no problems. And free Malwarebytes.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

AVIRA is good. AVG pretty much bricked my last laptop by screwing up the registry.

Very shortly after Zambo posted this thread, I received my own update, and I'm not impressed. AVG use so much trickery to con you into buying their paid-for products they should have some virus definition built in to alert you to their own malware.

But I've used it for years with no problems so will probably continue until I get a problem.

I also use it in conjunction with Zonealarm, Noscript, Sandboxie, the regular MS malware programmes like Defender as well as being careful what sites I use.
