Photo hosting sites

Post by beingsoblase »

So I recently found out a hosting site I've been using since about 2009 has totally shut down and all photos on there have been deleted, tinypics, which at the time were owned by photobucket, insisted it was due to not making enough via and revenue, and totally nothing at all to do with the fact they were a competitor to photobucket until the takeover.

The thing is, I was using the site on and off throughout last year, and apparently they stopped any new uploads in August, but didn't put any notice on the site whatsoever, then nuked it in November, all with no advance notice whatsoever on the site
Cunts.

So I have been trying to find another hosting site, but can only find app type ones, which all seem to have shite reviews, or sites that have been stopped on mobile internet ( because you should use our shitty app.....)

Wondering if theres any recommendations for a hosting site that I can still use on my mobile?

Imgur is one of those that have the mobile site shut down, and Google images is linked to too much of my personal stuff.
Wanted to post stuff here, but I need it to be somewhat anonymous, because an overweight, bitter ex shock Jock is actively trying to harvest personal details of users.

Imgbb.com is what I use now.
I usually only want to get URLs, and it's simple to use and free.

I used to use imageshack until they wanted you to register and then pay.
Imgur for a bit, but that place was a fucking pox to use.
Then, like yourself, tinypic, till it went tits up.

Imgbb fills the void.

And online-image-editor.com is good, basic and easy to use of you want to fuck about with the pictures. Also free.

Also when you want a gif it's becoming harder to do. Giphy is a cancer.

dropbox, you have to pay for extra storage.

I take a lot of video and photos - dropbox is by far the easiest to work with.

If you just want to store photos - google photos.

I use: https://postimages.org/ for posting random shit onto forums.

I was not sad to see the back of Tinyprick. They did actually announce it was shutting down quite eptensively via your registered email address but couldn't have cared less at the time.

They suddenly deleted all the pics I'd saved bashing PC stupidity as well as everything else they deemed unsuitable. ie anything opposing PC bullshit.

I use Lensdump now which isn't great as lacks a lot of features such as multiple tagging but it's free and doesn't delete things behind your back.

I found with tinypic that whatever algorithm they used to generate the string of characters for the filenames... a few years later that same string of characters got allocated to someone else's picture so sometimes your picture suddenly changed to some other thing. Luckily none of them changed to anything really embarrassing.

I find imgur.com easy to use.
