Help

Post by chelseachelsea »

Im with Virgin Media, and their helpdesk is shit to say the least.
Over the past 4 weeks we keep losing our internet connection, and when we try to reconnect, it comes up "WIFI doesnt have valid IP configuration".
We turn off router, etc, sometimes it reconnects for a few hours, other times minutes, or not at all.

So without spending hours on the phone to VM, when they cant seem to fix the issue, can any of you technology wizkids give any ideas to a permanent solution?
Thanks

Madam. We will need your sort code and pin number to proceed.

Not sure mate, are all your configurations up to date on your devices? Other than that, sounds like you might be in a black-spot. So you'll need to dig-up the road and pull something.

I have received help from their Community forum on several occasions, and issues have been sorted. Suggest it's worth a punt.

If its fibre they've fucked up the installation. I had this when I had it, took multiple people coming out until I got an guy who just looked at it and went "this mistake keeps happening" and fixed it in 5 minutes.

Forgot to say, if an engineer's visit is recommended the admin there can book it for you.

Not fibre @Eastend, It's still the original set up from Telewest, how many years ago???

Everythings been fine for years, other than the odd phone call that resolved any issues, except for now.
