Well BB's tastes and mine are likely to be different, so recommending my 10 favourite albums of recent times might not help him. The point is, if you go and look for it then there's loads of interesting music out there.

I don't have a favourite - more of a Stones man myself. The singles they put out up until Brian Jones sunk from the scene remain a fantastic listen.

What I find when people complain about modern music being shite is that they don't want people to tell them what good music is out there or where to find it - they just want to moan and then ramble on about old music.

The great point about 2018 is that you still have all that old music - no one forbids you from listening to it and the government doesn't come along and destroy it because it's past some mythical listen-by date - and so there is as much of that stuff to enjoy as there has ever been and then if you want to also enjoy all the great music of more recent times then that is also available.

It's brilliant.

Well said. Digital applications such as Spotify are goldmines for new and old music, podcasts, stand-up comedy (Bill Hicks!) and comedy shows (Hancock's Half Hour!)

Nash was alright "back in the day" until she dyed her hair black and started yelling about muh feminism, and like, 'cos I'm like, bi-sexual. I still enjoy listening to her early stuff, though. The song 'Mariella' is wonderful.
