The Boost (1988).

Babbling lunatic James Woods plays a coked-up babbling lunatic who loses everything to his addiction.

Downbeat but a good film. 7/10.

A Face in the Crowd (1957) - A razor sharp satire on a small town drifter who makes it as a celebrity on radio and tv in 1950s America. The film's view of politics gives an idea why some get elected (Trump) and other do not (Clinton).

Nice. I love James Woods. Haven't seen this.

Hostiles

One was looking forward to. So poor. No logic. The boy Bales character hates injuns but soon trusts his greatest foe and enemy...ending was cack as well... Huge disappointment. Few coats of white guilt threw in as well......take my tobacco chief.....free Starbucks round the corner as well dude!

I like injuns BTW..tough people.... Fought hard...weak, self-hating whites, not so much. More Hollyweird propaganda dressed as entertainment.

3/10.... Ben Foster was wasted in this movie as well.

Caller to Collins

''Is that Ian Collins? Wow? Last time I heard you was on Creatures Of The Night''
''Where have you been, fella? It's been a while since then,''

Then he goes on a bit long 5-7 min speel about juicing/detoxing.

The Col. is thinking of giving up sugar, but that'll mean no more Zinger Tower wouldn't it??!!

FFS, oops! 'S e Dodgepot a' th' ann

Meant for the LBC of course.

But to keep it on topic, not seen a film for 3 weeks. Although did see Gervais' special on Netflix and thought it was very good, although I do like him alot but the transgender parts were excellent and spot on.

‘Testament of Youth’ : 2014 : BBC2 on Saturday.
About Vera Brittain, who became a nurse during WW1, serving in England and in France not far from the front.
After seeing the carnage in France and losing her fiancé, her brother and two close friends, she became an ardent pacifist.
The short scene that affected me most was when she opened a newspaper and faced pages of lists of the war dead.
She was the mother of Shirley Williams.

Watched Severance last night. What a jolly splendid hoot. Bit of a Deliverance spoof. Watching The Cottage too - halfway through that. Looks quite fun and anything with Reece Shearsmith in is usually entertaining.
