A lot of working class folk, including me and all my family had no idea what life in Australia was like before Neighbours. A trip to Prestatyn was the farthest we ever got Granted it's fiction Pal and not in any way reflective of life down under, however, back in the day, it felt like blissful escapism.

Edit- yes, very sad the lady got pelters. I recall a definite shift in her character towards the end, perhaps the writers were sensitive to the shit the British tabloids gave the character...

I cannot imagine starting the day without watch an episode of Neighbours.

It is so different from the bleak streets of Westherfield and Albert Square.

Mark Little (Joe Mangel) was on 'This Morning', err this morning saying she was only in the show for two years, which Mr Wiki agrees, but did nearly 300 episodes in that time.

Of some or no interest to TS listeners, 'This Morning' was presented by James Martin, taking a break from Asda, and the bastard didn't even cook, Brian Turner did.

Indeed Scott and Charlene are still together in Brizzie.

Their daughter Madison has recently moved to Erinsborough where her Uncle Paul (Robinson) got her a job in the local newspaper

She has now lost the job because in typical Uncle Paul fashion, he used her column to wreak revenge on Brad Willis's and he wee wife whom perjured themselves to get him banged up in Wentwirth fir the fire at Lassiter's.
