Eurovision 2018

Post by Carlos J »

Continuation from here onto next year: https://talkforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f ... &start=690

Show them that boot cuts are cool as fuck. 8)

Will surely do, Roddy. 8) Tickets out tomorrow, today are for the final and are at the pricey, not Jordan, end: https://www.blueticket.pt/info/eurovisao-en4.html and http://eurovisionworld.com/?eurovision=tickets for all ticket info.

Much as love Eurovision, can I justify €120 for standing tickets? Probably can, but as per Vienna 2015, did standing and sitting and sitting was fine, stood anyway and easier and less crowded bar access. :drinkers: So will wait for the bleachers on December 20 and then ones for the semis in January.

For Arthur Brutal, as he asks, see the blueticket link for all the shows they do, jury, family and live.

Portugal's marmite winner last year, Salvador Sobral:

I loved it, a bewtiful song and Portugal always fucked over with often great songs and always in their native language. Even the French have sold out recently. :( The Brits and Oirish loved it as well:
Irish jury voted Belgium 1st/25 and Portugal 6th/25.
Irish public voted Portugal 2nd/25 and Belgium 6th/25.

So points all round to both of them. For comparison from UK: https://eurovision.tv/event/kyiv-2017/g ... ed-kingdom

UK jury voted Portugal 1st/25 and Belgium 6th/25.
UK public voted Portugal 3rd/25 and Belgium 8th/25.
And I was err right:

Prediction by points.

Go on then. Portugal.

Anyway, let's get ready for the greatest televisual event of the year. 8)

Though the best song on the night for the TF jury came 7th. Still glorious:

One for dear Eurovision lover, Shedboy. Scandi-MILFs nay GILFs back in the UK 2015. Elisabeth Andreassen stunning in a glittery catsuit with a lacy hint of bra. :wnk: One can't envision the glory of having to extract her from that. :wnk:

Cheers, Carlos. Thirty years on and I'd still steer my liner into their fjords.
One of my favourite Eurovision winning songs and, on that note, I thought I would indulge myself and post my top ten winning songs.

1 - Apres Toi by Vicky Leandros, Even though I was only 10, I was delighted when this won.

2 - Waterloo by Abba

3 - Un banc, un arbre, une rue by Severine

4 - Non ho l'eta by Gigliola Cinquetti

5 - La det swinge by Bobbysocks :wnk: :wnk:

6 - Ein bißchen Frieden by Nicole

7 - Diva by Dana International (Fuck you, Conchita.)

8 - Euphoria by Loreen

9 - Take Me To Your Heaven by Charlotte Nilsson

10 - Nocturne by Secret Garden

Just missing out are
Ding-a-dong by Teach-In
Insieme: 1992 by Toto Cutugno
Rock 'n' Roll Kids by Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan

No doubt Carlos will have a completely different opinion.

Not a hope in Hell, Carlos. :)
To think, out of the above list the only one I didn't watch on tv is number 4. Old bastard. :)

A tribute to France Gall who, aged 17, won the ESC in 1965 but sadly died a few days ago. R.I.P.
Not the contest footage as the sync seems fucked up; this is much better.

RIP France Gall. Glorious. Two years before Sandie stood barefoot, the bob and white dress and a great song. The ESC footage is faster and better, IMO, Shedboy. Fuck still got a list to sort out.

UK entry picked tonight, fucking terrible

French entry picked a few days ago is a boring dirge about boat migrants , sung by a hook-nosed bleached platinum blonde munter.

I thought our winner was the best of a pretty average bunch. She needs to sort out the ending, though.

Hmm. Not listened to al the others yet, but will.

1 and on ears only. It is shite bland, build it up, let it down, build it up and nowhere else to go. It ain't great. Uptempo is good
2nd listen. It is anthemic by numbers with a build and just not there and so bland. All inclusive as needed,

Going solo will be shite, you are allowed 6 on stage. Use this time well old friend.

Already calling it a 6.5/10. and right side, the bad side.
