What a night in the rare oul town.

From the moment Mick came out on stage to the opening “ooh oohs” of Sympathy For The Devil I knew this was going to the best gig I ever attended.

That snarling voice has lost none of its potency with age.

His energy defies human nature.

Mick endeared himself to Irish crowd by welcoming them in their native tongue.

“Cead mile failte” he yelled.

He said he tried to learn the words to Whisky In The Jar.

Then he asked if anyone had travelled to Dublin from Cork.....thousands yelled yes. “Anyone from Belfast” was answered the same way.

A pause...Mick says “anyone from Termonfeckin” and 70,000 people burst out

The hits rolled on......Start Me Up, Jumpin Jack Flash, Browm Sugar, Tumbling Dice and many more.

The vast majority of the audience would not have even been born when the Stones were in their prime.....heck, the parents of most of them would have still been at primary school.

But those kids knew every word to every song.

Keef took over for a couple numbers including The Worst, a haunting track from Voodoo Lounge and one of my favourite Stones songs.

(Reg....think of Ronnie Lane taking lead vocals on The Debris :) )

Ronnie was in great form and Charlie looks and acts like the elder statesman.

The backing vocalists and musicians were out of this world.

For the encore, Mick and a female backing singer did a duet on Gimme Shelter which was sensational.

And when the oh so familiar intro to Satisfaction rang out to bring the show to its finale there wasn’t a person still sitting in his or her seat.....we were all up rockin’ an’ rollin ‘ :drinkers:

A great night.

Go raith maith agat, Mick......thank you Dublin :)
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

Any sign of Mick Taylor? Ronnie's not fit to string Mick's guitar.

I've always said Mick's would be far more interesting than Keith's. But Jagger has said he has no desire to write a memoir, sadly.

I reckon they've both lived amazing lives, I'd love to experienced either's.

What a band too, the best ever in my opinion.
