Netflix

Post by SeanNW8 »

Have just signed up with Netflix.
I'm always late to the party. I was the last to get a mobile, sky sports, etc......

So what's worth watching.
Just in the middle of Narcos, which is brilliant TV.
But sure the such standards are not commonplace on Netflix. Sure there's a lot of dross too.

Any recommendations would be appreicated.

House of Cards
Of the Marvel ones, I only liked the Daredevil.
Rake ( I thought it was brilliant and very funny at times).
Lost in Space.
Stranger Things
Fargo Series 1 & 2.

The OA is weirdest TV series ever, you will never see another ending like it.

Top Boy is a good watch

Daredevil (despite the cancellation)

Some of the documentaries are good like Get Me Roger Stone and The Toys That Made Us.

Do you like foreign language programmes?

I could reccomend some very good ones.
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

Hey, yes any foreign language programme recommendations will be great.
I'm not a huge fan of xmas (bar the joy of being off work for a period of time), so good to avoid the madness by watching some docs at home.

Cheers

The Good Place
Grace and Frankie
Locke
Orange Is The New Black
House of Cards
Big Bang
Ab Fab

On BBC iPlayer try Cuckoo, if you haven't seen it. All 5 series are on there. That is definitely worth a binge watch.

Give Gotham a try, worth watching for the brilliant portrayals of the Riddler and the penguin, and I think they still have every episode of bottom too.

Orange Is The New Black, was excellent up until season five. Found it unwatchable.

The Good Place? More like The Shit Place!

The first series was good, but it's been crap ever since (except for a couple of good ones in the latest series). That Jason character makes it almost unwatchable.

Series 5 of Orange is the weakest, but I kept with it and glad I did. Series 6 had it's poor moments too but I still enjoyed it. Series 7 will be the last and that's probably a good idea. As with Big Bang, as much as I love the show, it is time for that to end too.

Thanks, i'll try season five one more time, if i'm still struggling with it, i'll jump to six.

If you've not seen it, Alias Grace is well worth a watch.

I'd probably just struggle through 5 if I were you, since 6 is all based on what happened in 5. I don't think it would be as enjoyable if you didn't know who is lying about what and what really happened during the siege.
