I must say no death of a rock star has saddened me more than Scott’s passing.
Scott’s music, his lyrics of love and the loss of love, delivered in that booming, effortless baritone was always ol’ Pet’s comfort blanket when his heart had been broken.
Locked away in my darkened bedroom. listening to songs like Joanna, Lights of Cinncinnatti and of course the anthem of broken hearted young Lotharios, the classic No Regrets always helped me through.
That and the realisation the next woman would not be too far away
His voice was also the perfect vehicle for Jacques Brel’s tales of life on society’s sleazy margins.
Scott Walker Sings Jacques Brel is probably my favourite all time album.
And this track one of my top five all time songs.....
Sadly Scott more or less retired in the 1980s and became a recluse so I never got to see him in person,
But I will always have his music.
Thank you, Scott.
RIP.

Re: Scott Walker
Bewtiful ol' Pet. Not heard that but do like Brel so will listen.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.
