black_guardian wrote:His Brexit stuff is better than other content. He's best when interviewing on podcasts. He's the only one to have got under Farage's skin which is no mean feat as many others have struggled. That's why Farage won't do interviews with him.

LBC has got a better balance of presenters than BBC or Sky...and Eddie Mair is still the best.

Eddie Mair is brilliant and was a great loss to Radio 4.
Strangely , one of the reasons he left was the BBC failing to keep up with the kind of salaries paid by people like LBC.....

The Brexity types that phone in are political flat-earthers.

If you get a chance read Fintan O’Toole “Brexit:The Politics of Pain”.

The two Tory twats outdoing each other in their Kamikaze approach to Brexit are making his polemic come to life in the real world
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

No he isn't.

No he wasn't.

Iain Dale was far better than Mair in that slot. Iain Dale is a far better presenter than Mair full stop.

I agree with you even as a Remainer. Dale is a quality presenter, Mair is a bit of a wet fish. I struggle to maintain listening to him for more than five minutes, similar to Adrian Durham onnTS although both have completely different personalities.

Prefer to listen to Dale in that timeslot instead.

JOB is clearly a smart and educated man. I get the feeling he’s winding up the leavers and right wing listeners although his verbose manner is a real switch off. He does come over to a remainer like me as being up own backside and trying a little too hard when taking the piss out of Farage, BJ and the ERG.

Some quite disturbing fascistic traits to JOB. Doesn't believe in giving airtime to opposing views that don't reach his self defined threshold of validity.

Indeed, - unlike his opposite numbers on LBC, who will do the caller the courtesy of a reasonable amount of time to get their message across, O'Brien, as soon as it's obvious the caller isn't of a pro-EU, pro-multiculturalism, pro-tree-hugging etc., persuasion, will constantly interrupt, and stab questions at them, not letting the point be heard, and cut them off if the previous tactics fail.
He is no doubt an extremely intelligent and capable radio presenter (not so good on tv by the way), but bot at all good at interviewing (those he agrees with just turns into a group hug).
And his rabid views on brexit make him unlistenable to listen to.
Anyone (such as Tick) that uses 'gammon' as a racial pejorative is as much a racist as those who use the word nigger and similar pejoratively.

Talking about yourself again, Paolo? If so, then even I'd say that's a bit harsh.

"National revisionist" would be more apt. You want to go back in time when all the non-whites just stayed under colonial rule, eh?

Remember: with Brexit comes trade deals and with trade deals come more brown, black and multi-ethnic faces. Immigration will go off the scale...and I guess you'll just have to love it.

Mair is the only presenter who just enjoys taking the piss - he knows what a phoney deal politics is. I don't blame him for taking the paycheck at LBC.

Dale is the Tory panto Dame. Still here with nowhere to go to..

Dale is just about the most in demand broadcaster in the UK.
