Why are the BBC....

Post by shivah »

obsessed with inter-racial relationships?

It's always though WHITE woman and BLACK man never the other way round. Is this subliminal that black men have bigger dongers?
Or do the BBC writers think it's racist for a black woman to fall in love with a honky?

Advertisers are the biggest advocates.
The challenge is to find a single advert that doesn't feature as many different ethnic combinations as possible,
Anyone (such as Tick) that uses 'gammon' as a racial pejorative is as much a racist as those who use the word nigger and similar pejoratively.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't advertisers obliged to do this by law whether they want to or not?

The fact that most see it as being 'woke' is a different argument.

No idea whether it's a legal requirement or not (wouldn't be at all surprised if it it was).
It doesn't make any less contrived, false or manipulative though.
Apologies too, but I have no idea what 'woke' means.

Don't know if any mod is around, but I'd suggest this should probably be in D&D.

I never said anything about racism – why have you mentioned it?

And agreed, this (ludicrous) thread should be in D&D.

I'd like to think there is no need to directly call anyone racist these days as it should be a given from the start.

And I take it you never applied to go on Screen Test?

I'm not actually sure myself if there's any direct legislation. It may be one of those 'agree to abide by the industry's code of practice' efforts such as those adopted by other reputable organisations like bailiffs and people who hand out fines for car parking.

'Woke' is the term applied to those who subscribe to all the bullshit surrounding identity politics thinking it's the way to go.

There's also the phrase 'Get Woke, Go Broke' which applies to those businesses which didn't realise PCness is actually so unpopular in real life people don't spend their money on it. Eg Trans gendered superheroes in Marvel Comics which saw sales tank.

I hope that phrase is true, but I have serious doubts, - the young generations are brainwashed with 'woke' it seems, and they will be the big consumers of the future.
For me, I just avoid as much mainstream tv as possible nowadays (which, I guess, is why I'd not heard the phrase until now).
