Um, not really. She was one of the main presenters on BBC Breakfast, which gets double the audience GMB does.
She hopped sides because she has young kids, lives in London, and didn't want to move to Salford (understandable).
The depressing thing is that she has always parroted that she's a proper woman with feminist values, not a dolly bird etc, then she accepts a column in the Daily Mail, which famously body-shames and humiliates women on a daily basis.

She hopped sides because she was on a popular dance show an ITV offered her a shed load of cash. She denied she'd move when she signed up for the show. Can't blame her but I find both of them tedious, GMB has decided its job is to fingerfuck all their guests. Good fun to watch the first few times then people stop showing up.

I think the main reason was she couldn't hack the commute, not the cash. She had to get the train up the evening before and be home the following morning, five days a week. Not a recipe for a happy family life.

I'm sure the £1,000,000 had nothing to do with it.

Am sure it was a part of it, but she's admitted that the daily commute from London to Manchester was having too much of an impact on her home life.

Why are you surprised? Most celebrities are pro-capitalism and anti-feminism, despite calling themselves 'right-on' socialists and feminists, and incredibly superficial. That aside, if the Daily Mail offered me loads-a-money to write a measly column I would accept the job, too! Who wouldn't?
With regards to the commute, I understand her plight. My daily commute used to be 3 hours – 1 hour 30 minutes each way – minus cancellations and delays. Young mothers I worked with commuted from the home counties, which takes even longer.
God knows how full-time working parents, let alone childless folks, have lives outside of work. As a former lecturer of mine once joked, "you think you've mastered the work / life balance now, just wait until you have kids!" Lmao!!!

I think the problem with Reid, is that she is now seen as the sidekick. She is completely overwhelmed trying to deal with Morgan and in my opinion now mimics his traits in some ways ie interview style. during the build up to the GE i found it all just unbearable. i believe in good journalism and the art of interviewing. i don't think shouting down politicians and not allowing them a moment to make a coherent point is interviewing. maybe if the viewing figures are going up, it shows that the general public want a bloke shouting down politicians and 'bullying' his co-hosts. Or maybe like me they are subject to it, because their significant other has it on.

You've hit the nail on the head, Mark. To be honest, very few presenters are competent at good journalism and the art of interviewing. Learning how to do so takes decades of practice, apart from the exceptional few prodigies. Andrew Neil is excellent (watch his interview with Ben Shapiro!)
The state of the media is no different from contemporary politics and popular culture: unfortunately, the general public often confuse rationality and competence with physical appearance and / or personality, and populism. Piers Morgan fits this shoe, as well as radio host Mike Graham and YouTubers such as Paul Joseph Watson. I'm not sure where Reid fits in this but she is attractive and likeable, at least to the average Joe and Jane – hence her popularity – but her interviewing and journalism skills are very weak.

I switch off immediately if interviewers keep interrupting and talking over interviewees, whoever they are. I can't believe anyone wants to see that shit.

I believe the art of interviewing is to make it about who is being interviewed. That’s where egotistical presenters, believing they’re the celebrity in the relationship, fall down. They can’t turn off the ego.

GMB is trash, but Piers at least has a personality, even if it is loathsome. I'll probably do a bit of rubber-necking tomorrow to watch him hammer Migraine Markle and the Ginger Tosser. Reid has zero credibility, but she is a single mother to 3 children, so I can't really blame her for taking the cash. She's basically just doing this every morning:

LOL, Piers isn't on GMB this morning. Probably an executive decision. It's Ben 'air-steward' Shepard instead. What a shame.

I think they shake it up during the week. Probably to help the other presenters recover from the non-stop shite and shouting coming from the arsehole.

No, I think he only does three days a week, normally.
I bet he was dying to be on the show and rant for two hours about Harry and Meghan.

Apparently Piers reckons Meghan 'Ghosted' him? I could look that up, but what the fuck does that mean? Obviously his nose was put out of joint over it hence the vitriol.
