Cream

Post by Petingo »

A very underrated band you never hear people talk about much when the golden era of Rock, the 60s, is discussed.

This is my favourite Cream track, performed at a Ginger Baker tribute gig where ol’ Slowhand is joined by Ronnie Wood.

Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

Nowhere near as good as the beautifully done original.

Some people think that Cream where the best rock band that ever lived, and I guess we all have different tastes, but imo my cat makes a better noise when I've kicked it over next door's fence.

Mind you, I'd say the same about Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, etc. Just a noise for headbangers.

Give me Perry Como any day :D

I like Blues Rock, and Dire Straits were the business.

I probably should check out some of their stuff, only really heard the 'hits'.

Not the same band, but the Goodfellas /longer version of Layla by Derek & The Dominoes is one of the best songs ever written especially that instrumental ending.

Nice ominous use of Sunshine of Your Love in the same film...

Really good documentary on BBC4 last week all about Eel Pie Island. Was where the Stones started and many other star bands of that era also performed there. Was like a very very small Glastonbury. :)
