The Bee Gees

Post by Jonathan »

Watched them in concert last night and conclude they were massively underrated in their contributions to music. Very talented and much more than just Saturday Night Fever.

Discuss.

They are up there with the best songwriters like Lennon & McCartney. Especially when you consider the hits they wrote for other artists as well.

My first ever album was a Bee Gees cassette in 1987.

They were a fantastic group over many years with loads of hit singles.
They played in a small village next to our town in November 1967 where Barry Gibb met his future wife Linda Gray who was at my school.
They are still together.

They deserve a public holiday in their name just for this

Not for me.
Utter shite, and a triumvirate of cunts too.

Apart from Andy Gibb the druggie who died young. He was probably okay.

They had some memorable tunes. All me and my mate can get in our truck is R2. And they come on once in a while and no bad word is spoke.

I've never really been one for liking a particular group or singer, tended to be attracted by individual songs rather than the makers of. The closest I came to following a group would probably have been The Bee Gees. This was around the time when it was almost impossible to avoid their music. Little did I know they were writing songs for other acts as well, very prolific.

Saw a recent interview with Barry Gibb, a really top bloke and more talented than I ever imagined.

Great Band, before and after SNF
I have greatest respect for Rugby Union, they started it mid-way through the 19th century. Thankfully we grabbed it and turned it into a spectacle on 29th August 1895

Terrible music for me, the best thing that they have done was when they stormed off Clive Anderson's when he called them 'tossers'.

He was good Clive Anderson back in the day.

Meaningless songs in very high voices.
