Re: New ABBA album and London show
I enjoy their songs and they were of their time. I suppose it helps having a gay following as there is a lot of money in the pink pound, as they tend to have more disposable income, and they enjoy a bit of camp like kylie etc.kancutlawns wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 6:04 pmDo you like them Leado? Gay icons seem to have more pulling power, why is this? Why does a big gay somehow mean that a band is better? Sam Smith, Gloria Gaynor and Take That have big gay followings but they’re all shit.theleader82 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 5:41 pm I remember reading they were massive in Australia , and had a big gay following

They broke up in 1982 though. Do you remember them well? I don’t think the pink pound means they’re necessarily quality, just more marketable as the music promoters can get a better profile and get more err coverage.theleader82 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 7:15 pmI enjoy their songs and they were of their time. I’m not sure that’s true. Keith Chegwin was arse of the year for at least three of those, late 70s and early 80s.chelseachelsea wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 8:18 pm Was probably arse of the year in 76,77,78,79,80,81, 82 ad infinitum.

It's funny how 'the pink pound' means one thing and 'pounding the pink' means exactly the opposite.kancutlawns wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 7:18 pmThey broke up in 1982 though. Do you remember them well?
