Nowt wrong with women drinking pints, but what used to piss me off was my mother's local which gave me a small glass along with my pint, when asked what the glass was for I was told that it was so I could decant some beer into it instead of drinking from the pint glass. needless to say, they only did it the once, I also heard about a pub somewhere which wouldn't serve women with pints, they said it was unladylike.

Interestingly, most of my female friends prefer cocktails and wine to beer. I'm picky: cold beer on a hot day, cocktails on girls' nights out or in clubs. I rarely order wine due to lack of choice (who'd pay six quid for a small glass of Shiraz?)

There are advantages in halves. Probably avoiding rounds, less peer pressure to keep up with male drinking, which is good.

A few women I know (and yes, socialise with ) tend to only drink pints at gigs as just easier than going to a rammed bar after a half or a glass of wine. Often with a Vodka chaser. At more sedate venues, they tend to the wine and err vodka, again.
