Woods puts the hours in, she was on with Big Al around 6:30 and he vaguely insulted her and then, by way of apology, pretended to be interested in the sportswoman of the year. He’d heard of one, a jockey I think. She said it’s being held in the same building as TS so probably she’ll sleep in the studio and be ready to go at 6:00am again.

Another dire evening from Hugh Wotzit, whose posh but rather metallic voice is IMHO about as welcome as Jim White scraping his fingernails down a blackboard. Hugh's guests this week are a black man and a woman. Sorry, I mean Emile Heskey, who has never sounded as inarticulate as he does tonight, and Lynsey Hooper, a strangely aimless reporter for multiple club TV channels who is stating the obvious as if it's dangerous and daring opinion. Unfortunately for Policeman Hugh, there don't appear to be any prominent black sportsmen who have fallen foul of Hugh's Off Message Squad (John Barnes presumably is undergoing thought correction in a clinic somewhere in Essex). That has left him merely trying to talk about games and general footie news, which he's actually not very good at. Well done Clayton, another great effort!

The stuff after 8pm was absolutely dreadful. Hoo Wooze unconvincingly trying to argue that the Premier League isn't very good because there are too many draws or something, then started prattling on about extrapolation of points for certain teams before Wooze closed out this dire feature by asking if we should increase points for draws.

Bring back John Barnes.
