He is an entertaining listen for sure. As are Julia Hartley-Brewer, James Whale, Iain Lee and Jon Holmes (not my taste, but his other shows have been funny). The Bob Mills show is worth listening to if you like listening to talk about comedy/comedians.shivah wrote:On now, Georgey Boy!ccreds wrote:Where's the charisma on the station?
The station just doesn't have the platform that other stations have which is a shame. Hopefully it waill catch on with a bigger audience.

I've seen plugs for the Paul Ross show in the rag,
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

If John Holmes is the most popular show on the network, how the fuck can Paul M-Cat remain in his role?

JHB shouldn't be competing with James O'Brien - she's never going to win that battle, but looking at the drop off in listeners when that bloody awful fogarty comes on - Talkradio could clean up by moving her to 1pm.
John Holmes - very funny doing 5 minutes stand up on the now show (as a matter of fact he was the only thing that made it bearable) but not great as a radio host.

What matters is not raw audience size, but its reach- of those who COULD listen, how many do?
The figure for talk 107, given the broadcast area, is actually quite good.
Whereas the figures for Talkradio are abysmal, given its possible national coverage.
And DAB, satellite and online are the growing radio delivery methods. Old analogue/MW is in fast decline.
Listen to Talksport and let it be a lesson to you
