"Do you know the story of the Colonel? And what he did? He retired from work and run out of money, he started it at about 68, I've potless what do I do? He started his own chicken place and the rest is history. This may be rubbish, but it's roughly that."

Didn't Collins throw Boyd to the wolves?
A few posts up I gave a brief summary of what he said.

Collins was on top form last week and in full cliche mode as well. One bit which made me laugh was when he was discussing being in a cinema and someone had taken a baby along and the baby was 'kicking off'. Still chuckling now.

He's been good.

Yes, a lot of blagging at times and there's the bits of David Brent too with those quotes but he's a good egg overall and I'd like to see him back on the air. A much better broadcaster than Matthew Wright - luvie, boring, ''wine down Friday'' is the most middle-class segment on British radio, even more so than anything R4 does.

Not sure about the female co-hosts. I've listened to about 3 out of 5 days - the one today (Jenni Brent Hughes?!) just a bit dull really, sounds like Yasmine Khan Brown -Ah do struggle (liking) those double barrelled names. Best one probably the musician lassie.

Go on Col' give us a soundbite before I turn off at 16:00

Collins speaking to a wine expert from NZ -

Kiwi "this is a New Zealand Pinot Noir!"

Collins "Oh, here we go! This your area isn't it!"

A bit later...

Col "This tastes about right, doesn't it."

Kiwi "This is hand made, or plunged by a robot.

Col "Yes, exactly. Who doesn't love a robot? That is a process isn't it?"

Kiwi "There's some black fruits in the taste here."

Col "Indeed. Yes its that isn't it!"

Kiwi "What's your favourite, Ian?"

Col "Oh, they are all brilliant. I might go out and drink some more wine."

Agreed. I thought he was the ideal presenter for that time slot - although he has previous in being able to handle the mid-morning slot with aplomb.

TR have got to get the Colonel back on board with a permaslot . It's his natural home.

Wright is a sneering libtard wanker. Wish he'd fuck off. I'd love The Colonel in permanently.

Get the Col. back.

Wright and Kevin O'Sullivan is the beige, middle-class radio show you never wanted in the first place. They probably both bang on about being 'working class' yet live in million pound houses and have 3 cars in the drive way.

''Wine down Friday'' says it all.

Just had a scan of his Twitter and apparently the Col was on yesterday and the day before for Holmes.

He'll have squared the Brexit circle.

I'll try and remember to listen today later and be panning for CollinsGOLD.

I thought the Colonel standing in for the bland Wright a few weeks ago was a superb act. I'd forgotten how good he still is.
Have a reshuffle and get him back
