Gerald Harper

Post by subsub »

Nice piece from (former?) TS producer:
http://www.masterton.co.uk/2009/11/champagne-and-roses/

One evening I came across a blatantly piss-taking email which read:

“Pls say hello to Mary. She fell down the stairs. I love her so”.

I handed it to Gerald as an example of some of the dafter things that would come through. Next thing I knew he was reading it out verbatim and promising a huge bunch of flowers for poor Mary to help cheer her up from her accident.

It was unusual for many reasons though perhaps mainly because it played (very old) records on a speech-based station.

Her cunt probably had a median age of 500 however. Calm down. A pretty face not necessarily equates to a pristine slit.

It's genuinely my favourite talksport show. Superb stuff but a bit strange for a talk radio station.

Yes I can just about remeber that he enjoyed waving his sword around in those days as Adam Adamant which he obviously carried on with great gusto into later life

The best bit was when Adrian Durham winding up the show before, his usual Neanderthal phone-in, had to trail Gerald and tell us to be sure not to miss it, trying to retain the listeners.

I may be wrong but I think Parry was station controller at the time and he commissioned it.
