Was lying in bed last night in the early hours, remembering how much I loved listening to Matt on nights before it went to 24-hour sport. Loved the banter, loved the call-ins.

I know that mate, but I'm talking about his show before the pre-sport era. When he had free reign to talk about whatever he wanted.

Every Friday night I would lay down in bed to listen to The Mother of All Talk Shows with George Galloway at 8pm, who would hand over to Fordey at 11pm. Loved it.

Don't get me wrong, he was an excellent sports broadcaster - just I preferred him with the shackles off.
