I don't think he's quite so wealthy, when he took ill and was off the air he mentioned needing to borrow 30k off his pal Evans. It's probably why he went on the road and was talking to Lloyd Webber...look out for the musical.

He was boasting a few years ago of the millions he made and spent. Fair enough, you can't take it with you, but he made a massive point of the fact that he'd made so much money.
