When Scotchland last played in a tournament...

Post by Bad Blue 2000 »

What were you doing?
Were you alive?

I was about to go travelling for a year.
I remember the Clinton/Monica Lewinsky affair seemed to be big news.

July 1998 if that's correct. I'd been alive some time. Also remember the Clinton/Lewinsky crap. Was interviewed outside the White House by a Boston TV crew, as I obviously looked like the average UK tourist, when all the bigwigs were down for a meeting, I think that the fact that Clinton had finally admitting his liaison, must have had something to do it. Got a photo of Jessie Jackson getting into his car eating a hot dog somewhere in the holiday album. Beckham was red carded in the WC, and France won it. Sampras won Wimbledon. Music was shite round that time.

I cannot actually remember that year very much. I remember that WC, obviously, but nothing personal of note that springs to mind. I mean, I didnt bum anyone or anything like that. Oh, my brother in law got married, if that counts.?

Still living in Nottingham. Watched the start of WC there, then some in that London and England lose to Argentina in sunny Brighton with my Scotch best mate who was most amused. Was fucked most of the time.

I was in America on holiday, visiting the national parks (Yosemite, Zion etc) and went to Vegas for the first time.
Was impossible to keep track of the games, but I do remember seeing Owen's equaliser against Romania then Le Saux fucking up at the death. Flew home just before the Colombia game.

Oh, and got together with a female work colleague - tall, blonde, big boobs :smt023
She was a veggie, though, so it wasn't meant to be

You can't even remember the opening game of the tournament? Brazil v Scotchland. The Scotch, 1-0 down early, equalised through a penalty and holding out stoutly for a draw, scored a shocking og. :smt044 :smt044

Then a noble draw v Norway and with a victory giving them a chance to qualify, got humped 3-0 by these valiant today Moroccan's. Though Norway err beat Brazil so didn't matter after all.

I don't take a blind bit of notice of the Scottish football team, much like most of Scotland whose energies are focused on hating everything English.
