Germany are awful, the worst German squad I've seen since the early 2000s.

Even if Germany do scramble through I very much doubt they can improve enough to make any impact in the competition.

As I understood it, you can't be played onside by a deflection off a defender, it has to be a deliberate action by him.
That's fucked a few people on the predictor league, me included. Still, there you go.

ETA Hang on, I was looking at the wrong bloke, the one whose legs the ball went through, seeing as they made so much fuss about it on the replays. In fact he WAS played onside by the other German.
