At that point, in a tiny forum, with no moderation, there's no point in continuing.

I've never heard of any of these bigger forums. Are they any fun ?

Just for the record: 'Reg's claims are a pack of lies. He started provoking me out of nowhere (trace it back, it's a very simple empirical operation), I'd made no attempt to seek him out, he just decided to wind me up, and he kept going, and going, and going, and going. Look at the posts. No opinion needed - look at the posts.

So 'Reg' carried on. It's not a matter of opinion, look back at the exchanges.

So out of desperation, I put him on ignore. That's a pretty clear sign I wanted to end that nonsense, rather than him. But even then, every time I posted anything, a message saying 'Reg' had responded popped up. That's just sad.

At THAT point, mods should have intervened, very belatedly, to say to him, 'Look, either put him on ignore or grow up'. But they didn't.

Then mates of 'Reg,' like Jimmy, the compiler of those pisspoor clips - you DO have a thick skin, don't you, Jim? - joined in.

At that point, in a tiny forum, with no moderation, there's no point in continuing. That's not 'flouncing' or being 'thin-skinned' - it's just realising life's too short when one poster has been given impunity to wind up another one non-stop. What are you supposed to do? Seriously - what the hell are you supposed to do? You use the ignore facility and he's STILL at it. And that's MY fault??

You can keep lying about it but that's the truth, and, deep down, 'Reg's chums know full well they'd not stand for it if it happened to them rather than me. 'No big deal, says Reg's mate Jimmy - it would be if it was you. Or anyone else. It's a really crap way to run a forum.

All posts are not read by all mods, but I'd say that nearly all are read by at least one.

Obviously the ones which you refer to were not deemed to have broken any forum rules. If you thought some did and no action was taken, instead of whining about it, you should have reported the posts in question. You say you were a mod on a much bigger forum, so I must assume that you know the drill.

Why not report them now, and include the ones which contained abuse of another poster.

I don't think you quite understand the nature of the "ignore" function. It doesn't make HIM ignore YOU, by magic.

No one else did anything, it was only me.

I have since apologised again.

But this is a forum for having a laugh and an argument, not a nursery school where nobody’s feelings are allowed to be hurt.

Most people on here have experienced far worse and not been bothered in the slightest.

I suspect the real problem here is somewhat different to that reported so far.

You may or may not know that Reg, a man known to 'have his fingers in numerous pies', has always fancied himself as a bit of a dentist. Not a man to worry about irrelevancies such as qualifications, he recently opened up a new practice in South London.
