Is there a reason that UK plates are two different colours? I don't know of any other countries that do this? Is the yellow something to do with back roads and seeing them in the dark?

I think Lithuania and Holland both have yellow plates as well ; but seems most EU/European nations have white plates.

Its always interesting seeing an Isle of Man plate as it looks British with that 3 legged Celtic symbol on it.

I love if traveling in the US and trying to spot all the different number plates. Think the last time I was there around Virginia, Pennsylvania etc ended up keeping notes of plates I seen (NERD!)
