Postponed. I thought?

Can't see where else they could fit it in on the UCI calender, can you?

Well I think Strade Bianchi is going to be just before the race of the falling leaves (leafs)? lol.. i guess it'll be somewhere around then, either b4 or after.

Are aluminium frame bikes ok? Don’t really won’t to splash out on a carbon fibre one for my first bike? I was thinking of getting my bike from decathlon. I read good reviews about their bikes

Most general sale bikes are aluminium, some with carbon forks ala Giant or Boardmans , Carbon fibre bikes don't really make that much difference to joe average weight wise. Only to pro's does 3- 4 kg make any change. For the kit on them just buy a Boardy or Giant or Specialised mid range hybrid if its for commuting/leisure.
I have a carbon fibre Pinarello , won not bought fortunately & it makes no change to a lard arse like me on it alongside my normal bikes ......& on 20mmm tyres you need some balance at times , really should have sold it by now to someone who rides top end level ish

Is there much difference between a gravel bike and a road bike? I realise the gravel bike will probably be a bit slower but are they still good to use on the road? I live a few miles from a reservoir which has a gravel type path around the outside.

Most decent level hybrids are fine on gravel paths etc , just get one with abt 28 -30 mm tyres

I've got a gravel bike for commuting. They are longer than road bikes which I find more comfortable.

As per my Cannnondale hybrid has 30mm tyres. Had 3+ years on road and Norfolk Broads side and still great. Get yourself down to a dealer, Leader and try some out. Everyday use and some gravel fun, you'll get yourself something decent for a monkey. You're not going to do L'Étape du Tour or hardcore road riding so get down the shops and try a few. All good dealers will let you.

A lady friend who has has recently bought a second hand Ribble road bike and gone cycling crazy keeps sending me Strava maps, thankfully not all the info, though don't care for the maps. Did her furthest 42 miles the other day, good on her. Will have to sort her on the Tour de Broads next year on the hybrid, though going to do Lowestoft to Norwich at the end of the month through the countryside and along rivers, lovely.

Done my daily 10k, but must get myself a real one and get on the roads. The Roger Black exercise bike is getting a bit worn.

Thanks. There is a bike shop at the reservoir where I jog sometimes but some of there bikes are on the pricey side. Would be a good place to practice though. Decathlon have some good value ones. I like the value of a gravel bike as it gives you more options. Norfolk would be a nice area for cycling. I’d like to go the Peak District once I feel confident on the bike

Maybe it's just me but I found sharing Strava data a bit of tyranny and people cheat on it all the time.
