Yes, Higgins. Paolo. Hope you don't mind, merged your thread into the old 'Drone' thread? Oirish 'Dronegirl' I mentioned on page 1 also uses a DJI Phantom 4 and Sid's DJI Mavic Pro. Check her channel out:

And do they always come with a camera?

7-800 quid

Damn, a bit too rich for me. I was hoping more for the three to four hundred mark.

Check out the DJI Spark..round the 400 quid mark. Better than a "toy" not as complex as some of the pro ones, but still decent enough for quality images.

Ta. I was thinking of treating myself to one this summer as I have a bit of money coming. Unfortunately unlike Paolo, as it's Norn Iron there aren't any decent lasses round here worth spying on so I'll probably just use it to harass golfers on the nearby golf course, the German car driving motherfuckers.

Might get one if the next couple of months at work go well.

This time last year I nearly landed a job heading up sales and marketing for a VC funded start up company, run by a bunch of 20-something year old, mechanical engineering wizards, who have developed a piece of AI software to automatically control fleets of drones....with 1 human pilot running dozens and dozens of the things.

Would've been incredible (but only if they got the extra £10M funding they were after).

I was out learning to fly at kennedy lake yesterday....lots of wide open spaces

maybe a get fit device, hike off into the bush and get some flight time in....i like the nature, animals and scenary

flight time about 20 minutes, only two batteries so will get more this weekend

will be orca spotting at end of my road soon, caught them with regular camera but can't wait for drone flight pics

just a case of learning to drive the thing and using the features

but worth a punt, but from my limited research, the phantom 4 pro is the best bang for your buck, bird i do pics with has a mavic, more convenient but camera not as good, and as light and small, not as stable and can struggle in a breeze

I use drones quite a lot for stuff. The Mavic Air with the fly more pack is a good buy, you get extra batteries.

A few things to note:

1. They are really loud and people tend to get a little grumpy around them.
2. Flight time isn't that great - about 20 minutes
3. You'll buy a lot of spare blades
4. Takes quite a lot of practice to get good results.
