Has anyone visited before ? I was thinking of booking last minute ski holiday but was a bit concerned , as it’s quite a poor underdeveloped country.

Lots of furriners there, Lead-o. "Poor, undeveloped" places are better, off the beaten track and you don't get the crowds. Relatively inexpensive too but you need to ensure you have proper life and accident cover if and when you go there. Facilities may well not be on a par with say the French and Italian sky slopes. Keep yourself to yourself and don't make political statements, try to get off with their women or take photographs of military installations and you should be OK. Also, don't stray into Macedonia wearing a Turkey, Bosnia or Kosovo football shirt or drive a car with number plates of any of those countries. That said, I'm sure that Bulgaria is a decent and pleasant country to go, watch out for the Roma and general thievery as well as people trafficking.

Went about 10 years ago to Sunny Beach.

Absolute shit hole of a place. Avoid at all costs.

Full of gangsters and quasi-gangsters.

Food was utter shite. Hotel restaurant gave me the shits, various other restaurants in the resort gave me the shits.

I hated it, utterly despise the place. Wankers at passport control giving you the third degree when you're going home

That being said I'm sure there's some redeeming features to the country
A joyless arsehole.

I have a Bulgarian mate .. used to play with Stoichkov. I asked him what he was like .. he said 'he was cunt'. Cold winters hot summers and his wife 'she is bitch'. Never been myself tbh

He was handy with his wrist too ball accounts, something the great Bulgarian shares with Lead-o after he’s been watching TOWIE.

Hmm heard good things, ie: price of beer. But only from friends who have gone to Black Sea resorts in the summer. They were on the piste. (see what i did there)?
