New Year, New You?

Post by kevin04 »

Or a load of old cobblers?

19 for 19? Resolutions? Or just continue rocking on the way things were and being content?

There's some merit in them, and people should always try to adapt/challenge themselves or even change certain things they don't like ; but many resolutions seems to be all or nothing. Those gym memberships and by the end of January, you're going once every week to keep up the charade.

I think tons of wee things is probably best. E.g read more, try to eat better, do something new/sport etc rather than the overly crazy too high a goal stuff.

Anyhoos, each to their own and hope everyone has a good 2019.

Theres no point. You hear all this shit an no one keeps to it. Every year, I decided to quit smoking on the 1st and failed. Then I woke up one day and decided in may this year, No I am actually gonna quit this time. You've got to actually want it rather than be triggered by a date.

I dont think Ive ever seen anyone ever keep to a new years resolution.

The fact that some people let dates (numbers) condition their lives is quite telling on how fucking thick they are honestly.

I cycled to work twice last week for the first time in years, Took 6 minutes to get home rather than 20-25 minutes walking. But it's mostly uphill even in Partridgeland to get there so walked the rest of the week.

However, last year, no gym shit, vowed to get back into press ups and do 150 a day. Looking at stats, did it about 20 times a month, mostly work days as tended to do fuck all on days off and holidays. May up it to 300 and more sit ups.

Anyway, on what will be the 9th anniverserary of being at my job next week, have an interview. Only the second job I've appplied for since being there, 2017 got an interview and then declined it. Still pondering this one and whether to go. Grass is not always greener and other clichés are available. It's a sideway fella, still love my job but morale is poor with some and management non-existent and is not a happy place. Rats leaving a sinking ship indeed. A blip I think and saw the job advertised with a day to go, copied and pasted the previous application with a few amendments an lo, an interview. Still pondering whether to attend, why not and then see.

Two long game MILFs hopefully coming to fruition soon. :P And again make use of the 7 weeks holiday, maybe not long haul this year, but lots more Europe, Munich top of the list, Iceland strong, Italy been too long, Dam many times and others.

Hopefully a good year and wish a great 2019 to all forum chums. :drinkers:

No massive changes, more subtle:

- cook with more veg, and stop seeing meals as meat + carbs + veg, so will mix it up a bit
- will also try to stop throwing away so much food, and will try to make more soups etc out of leftovers
- get my golf handicap cut. 27.6 currently; ultimate goal is 18, but getting it down to 24/25 would be progress
