The effects of the caffeine finally wore off yesterday evening and slept normally. Got an important late afternoon meeting and need some more stimulation so may try another cup late morning. Did wonders for me a couple of days back and I tend to not drink very much coffee at all these days.

It only takes about 45 minutes for 99% of the drink's caffeine to be absorbed through these membranes/organs. In humans, the half-life for caffeine is anywhere from 4 to 6 hours on average, which explains why coffee's effects last about 4 to 6 hours.

May have been a prolonged effect as my body isn’t used to espresso so my dose may have lasted longer in my blood stream than firs regular user. I am not the median in any sense, Sid! I’m a unique err case.
