Re: Bowel cancer any tips?

I have spoken to Vespa about this, and he has requested that it is not taken further. I respect and understand that wish, and for his reasons for his decision. It says a lot about the sort of person he is. It was not something posted on the open forum.

I think he knows that we are all behind his fight against this disease, and he can call on any of us at any time for support or just to have a chin wag.

Vespa wrote: Tue Jul 21, 2020 2:58 pm Just a note, I won't be commenting on my cancer treatment anymore. I've recently been told by someone on this forum I'm playing 'cancer top trumps'

I can do without that sort of bullshit frankly.
well, if that's the case, I hope you get the best dealt cards and beat it handsomely

whoever said that....there's a line and it's quite a ways behind you

my last top trumps were cars circa 1981 ish

i remember a frue rolls royce phantom amongst others

hoping vespa gets the ferrari 512bb (best in the pack) and kicks cancer to the curb

ding ding round four of the current chemo this week, which will mean I've done 16 rounds of chemo in total. Four more to go after this and we'll see if Piers the tumour has gotten smaller.

I'm reading my blood tests today and my CEA markers are the lowest they've been since March. These test for a protein shed by cancer cells, the lower the better although it's not a reliable indicator of fewer cancer cells. It is nice to see.

It's surpisingly hard to get doctors to send you your blood tests, with a bit of nagging they'll tell you them over the phone.

The NHS app is pretty useful for test results. In my experience, they are usually on there within 48 hours of having the tests.
