horrible situation but with modern medical skills and a whole load of determination, it would be bloody fantastic to defeat this monster and come out smiling on the other side for many more years to come

stay strong, my old adversary....and thanks for the updates, it's inspiring

I was admitted this week when they found a complication. They spent four hours taking blood from my feet because the veins in my arms are flat and they can't get blood from them at the moment. I don't mind needles my arms but it fucking hurts in your feet.

Turns out my operation is delayed by at least two months because if they do it now I could die, meaning at least two more rounds of chemo and I have a new drug I have to inject twice a day until at least December. Tumour is smaller now so the chemo is working.

Disappointed I won't have my tumour Piers cut out in August but dems the breaks.

Found out my haematologist does sprint tri's so we shared war stories.

Outlook still good, just a little further down the road.

Fucking hell, Vespa.

You are really going through it. But I guess the good news is that the tumour is shrinking - thankfully.

As for the op delay, sympathies. I fully understand your desire to crack on with it ASAP, but two months in the grand scheme of things isn't the end of the world.

Hang in there, mate. You are doing brilliantly. Much better than I suspect I would be doing in the same circumstances.

All the best.

You're all very kind. It's not that bad, getting my head around injecting myself took a moment. Essentially my operation is just pushed back, although oddly I have to still inject for months after the operation.

My employer is very good and paying me 75% of my wages until I can come back.
