After 18 sessions i'd hope the markers would be going down.
As before stay strong

They didn't for the first 13 rounds, the new regime has brought them down. Not by much, the scan is the acid test.
Understandable that you / the doctors would want to reevaluate your treatment if there had been no movement after 13 session.
It is normal practice to scan in the middle and end of the chemo regime (for me that was 13 cycles for the first regime and 12 for this one) because of COVID they skipped the mid regime scan.shabbado wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 4:09 pmUnderstandable that you / the doctors would want to reevaluate your treatment if there had been no movement after 13 session.
One of the many knock on effects of the pandemic.Vespa wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 4:14 pmIt is normal practice to scan in the middle and end of the chemo regime (for me that was 13 cycles for the first regime and 12 for this one) because of COVID they skipped the mid regime scan.shabbado wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 4:09 pmUnderstandable that you / the doctors would want to reevaluate your treatment if there had been no movement after 13 session.
The blood tests for my immune system were below 1.0 which they really don't like.
Understandable but no doubt frustrating as hell for you to have to go through the full 13 sessions with minimal effect
I've never bought into the 'you fight cancer' mindset, I'm a passenger on my treatment train. The doctors tell me to do it and I do, whenever I made assumptions I've always been wrong. Now I just turn up.
I agree. I dislike the use of the word 'fight' with regards to cancer. It implies choice.
I think the “fighting” rhetoric is just a way to help sufferers from feeling completely helpless. Obviously I’m not speaking from first hand experience but I guess it’s whatever helps you to cope mentally.
I don't mind when people say it, I feel reasonably well so it doesn't feel like fight. When I meet people who've had half a lung removed they've been in an actual battle.Sadact7 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 5:59 pmI think the “fighting” rhetoric is just a way to help sufferers from feeling completely helpless. Best of luck as ever pal.
